The origins of Audeze can be traced back to 2008, when founders Sankar Thiagasamudram and Alexander Rosson met with engineer Pete Uka, who developed a special flexible circuit material for NASA. They quickly realized that this material might be a good fit for headphones. Then they created the award-winning legendary LCD-2 and LCD-3 headphones, as well as the more efficient LCD-X and XC models. Audeze seeks cutting-edge industrial design for new headsets and Deckard DACs/amplifiers from their strategic partner Designworks. It features a proprietary planar magnetic design with extremely thin driver materials and powerful custom magnets. The plane overcomes many of the limitations inherent in typical tapered drives.
