More About Everwilde Farms & Everwilde Farms Coupons
Everwilde Farms began as Jubilee Nursery in 1996 when Steve Sykora began growing a few species of native plants for seed. Things grew from there.
After 10 years of wholesale growing, They began to retail their wildflower seeds to those that were interested in our local area. They also started selling their wildflower seeds on the web. They found that people had a tremendous interest in their seeds, and their lifestyle. They started a Wildflower Journal where people could keep up to date on the happenings around their wildflower farm.
They began to sell vegetable seeds and herb seeds alongside the flower and grass seeds, and this was well-received by their customers. They focused on open pollinated and heirloom vegetable varieties, as it mirrored the seed saving work that they were doing with the natives. Things grew, and they broadened their selections by getting seeds in from growers in the Western US. They also bought a small farm in Central WA.
In the spring of 2015 they were forced to sell the WI farm, and the WA farm due to some health issues. The seeds are still being sold out of their retail location in Sand Creek WI, but they have had to rely more on other growers that we had worked with for their seeds. They have a new location in California now, and are amazed at the climate, and how many things can be grown in this area. They are hoping to resume some seed growing operations at this location in the near future!

Q:Is your seed nursery grown, or wild collected?
A:Almost all of their native wildflower seed is nursery grown, some of it right here at Everwilde Farms. They do not exploit wild stands of native wildflowers by unethical seed collection, or digging of plants.Their seed originates from the wild, but virtually all of the seed that they sell has been nursery propagated, and is not from the wild.
Q:How far away can the seed origin be, and still be considered local genotype?
A:Experts differ as to what exactly is considered "local seed". It has been shown that a species can vary more genetically in different conditions on the same site, than it sometimes will in similar conditions in another state. Some purists think that seed should be from within 25 miles to be local, while most think the limit should be around 200 miles. Their seeds will grow outside of this area, but cannot be considered local genotype.
