It is dyed in two factories in the UK and then woven into all the series they own, each pair of yarns being hand-joined by very capable craftsmen. Sadly, this is a dying craft and all their bed socks are now processed toes. Their sock factory is one of only three factories in the UK that manually connect socks toes. The socks then enter the finishing machine where they are washed, dried, ironed, and then returned to the knitting factory for matching, dimensioning and packaging. This is a long process that can take up to nine months, which is why after a busy winter months, Perilla is often out of stock with low inventory and some socks. This year is their thirteenth year, and Perilla is still working to expand the range of colors and styles.
