About Tennessee Grass Fed
Tennessee Grass Fed is known that in 1837, great-grandfather Adam Stark bought the first piece of land, which has become the farm of the Baggett family. His son-in-law, grandfather Henry Warren Baggett, joined the program in 1877. These plots total about 185 acres. Phil Bagget's father, Roy Phillip Bagget, bought the adjacent 160 acres in 1947. The Phil Morris Baggett family inherited the two farms and gradually increased adjacent plots to a total area of approximately 422 acres. About 300 acres of pasture are planted in a range of warm and cold season grasses, providing year-round grass for their cattle. When the Baggetts began to cultivate the land in 1837, Tennessee Grass Fed specialized in the production of tobacco, as well as other continuous crops such as corn, soybeans, and wheat.
